Craig Berman, DPT is the author of Climbology: An innovative Approach to Master Movement and Achieve Peak Performance and Contemporary Stretching: Principles and Best Practice Guidelines for Therapy, Athletics, and Yoga. He earned his doctorate in physical therapy from Columbia University and currently works as a physical therapist and clinical instructor of doctoral candidates. He has treated a diverse patient population ranging from Cirque du Soleil artists and professional athletes to significantly affected individuals in the hospital setting. 

Craig earned a Master’s degree in Dance with an emphasis in kinesiology followed by a professional career in the performing arts. He spent more than a decade on stage and years working as a choreographer, prop designer, and movement innovator for companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Momix. 

For over 30 years, Craig has been an elite rock climber enjoying bouldering, sport climbing, and competition climbing. As a youth climber, he competed in the 1992 Youth World Championships, and in 1993 he red pointed 5.14. Now, as a middle-aged family man, Craig has focused his attention on bouldering. He has established more than 150 first ascents in Southern Nevada, from the grades of V6 to V13. 

Craig presented content from his books at the 2019 and 2023 Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposiums. As he ages, Craig is motivated to progress his own physical abilities as well as assist others in maximizing their potential. 

Today, Craig’s greatest passion is his wife and two daughters. They all share a love of wildlife, exploration, climbing, and many different art forms.
